Jesus, You're Beautiful

Well, most of us our in the midst of such a busy season in our lives.

Finals, work, school, church, Christmas, Christmas shopping...The list goes on and on!

But let's take a break.

A pause.
A minute to think on our creator.
A minute to think on all his has done for us.
A minute to think on his love for us.

The reason I was inspired to write this specific blog was because I had a great conversation with somebody very dear to me who reminded me about the everlasting love of Jesus.

He showed me this song called "Jesus, You're Beautiful" by Jon Thurlow.

Listen and be blessed by this song.
Especially at the bridge.
It says these powerful words:

"I know that Your eyes are like flames of
fireI know that Your head is white as wool
I know that Your voice, it sounds like waters
Jesus, You’re beautiful."

His eyes are overflowing with love for us.
Nothing in them but love, grace, and forgiveness.

Live in his love.

Psalm 52:8
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

Be Blessed in him today.

A Story of God's Great Forgiveness

I haven't written for a couple of days, but no worries I haven't forgotten about this blog!

God has been moving in the lives of so many people. It encourages me so much, as I hope it encourages you.

For this post, I decided to post a short story that I absolutely love! It's about God's great forgiveness (hence the title!) I actually posted it in another blog, but I decided that I love the story so much that I will revisit it.

I got this story from a book I read a long time ago.

The story is about a girl who grew up loving and serving God. However, as she grew up some devastating things came her way and she completely turned her back on the Lord, her friends, and her family.

She was dealing with some HEAVY stuff. Literally, anything bad that you could possibly think of, this girl was doing or dealing with.

She ended up having to get sent away to an old woman's house because she had nowhere to go, and was expecting a child. She hated going because she felt like such failure. She felt like her life wasn't worth anything. That she wasn't worth anything.

She gave the older woman a hard time at first, but the older woman loved Christ more than anything, and actually had a very similar testimony. She had patience with her and began to love her back to life.

The older woman ended up taking the younger one to the beach one morning. She told her to write every single sin she had ever committed in the sand right by the shoreline.

The younger woman agreed, and began to bend down and write down every single bad thing she had ever done. As she was writing in the sand, she began to weep. She was crying loudly as she remembered everything that had ever happened to her in her life.

Then, all of the sudden, the tide came in and completely washed every single thing away.

The younger girl, with tears in her eyes, looked up and asked "I didn't even finish! The tide took them all away."

The older woman looked down at her and said with a smile "That's just like my Jesus. He will take every single one of your sins away if you ask him for his forgiveness. They won't even be there anymore. His love washes us clean."

(That was a summary because I could not exactly remember everything!)

This is such a simple story, but it is one of my all time favorites.
God loves you no matter what you have done. He loves you, he loves you, he loves you!

Luke 5:20
When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

We are forgiven in him today.
I love how he calls us friend.
How great is it that we are a friend of the King
Let's live in his freedom!

Blessings forever,

This is such an incredible song by Laura Hackett. It's super powerful song! Listen to it! (:

Day #1 Pray about YOUR day!

As I was talking to my dear friend about prayer, I found myself saying,

"What am I going to pray about?"

Not that I don't have enough words to say- for those of you that know me, you know that I am quite the talker! I have quite recently been compared to the golden retriever on the movie "Up."

But that is besides the point (:

My friend said that when you sit down for a few minutes to pray to the Lord, just pray to him like you are talking to your best friend.

You could:
Tell him about your day.
Tell him about the highs and the lows of it.
Tell him when you succeeded, and when you feel like you could have done better.

Pray blessings over you family and friends.
Pray blessings over your "enemies."
Pray blessings over you school.
Pray blessings over your church/pastor.

Once you begin praying, it's very hard to stop!
Things just continue to pour out of you.
It's very refreshing.

Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:11-13 (in Context)

I love to put a scripture in these blogs, because the words that come out of my mouth are merely nothing compared to the eternal life that flows out of the words in scripture.

I pray these simple words bless you in everything you do.
God is moving in mighty ways!

HE LOVES YOU.

New Blog

I was laying in bed the other, and all of the sudden the Lord dropped something into my heart. Something very specific! I really felt lead to start a blog. A simple blog. Something that could constantly be used as a tool of encouragement. Something that could begin to grow things in people. So, I typed in it to google and figured out how to create one, and the journey begins.

Before the Lord dropped this in my heart, I had an incredible "heart to heart" with one of my best friends. That "heart to heart" actually was the reason why I gave this blog the name that I did. He told me and encouraged me to pray for 20 minutes a day. Only 20. It's really not that much, but sometimes it can be difficult to achieve! So for the next month I am going to try to pray for 20 minutes a day. I want to also encourage anyone who is reading this to do the same. For a whole month. Then, I want to post things on this blog about it. I believe that God will begin to reveal things to us that we never, ever imagined. He will begin to change us.

This scripture is something that the Lord showed me many, many years ago. Let it breathe life into you. Meditate on it. See God for who he really is.

Isaiah 61

The Year of the LORD’s Favor
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn.

He has called us. Let's go on an adventure for God that we will never forget!

Blessings,

Thank you to my wonderful roommate, Jadyn for being such an incredible photographer and for providing me with the background. If you look very carefully, you can see one ladybug on one of the flowers. That's my favorite part.
